I was returning home, having attended the NHS England Elective Care Transformation programme on the neurosurgery pathway, in both a professional and personal capacity, that I suddenly began to understand and realise why the NHS is failing to offer patients access to a community rehabilitation service, following discharged from the hospital. This talk will offer both a professional and personal perspective on how a few relatively simple steps could transform the lives of so many people, who at present feel let down by the NHS. Regrettably, the BSLM have had to take the step to change the format of the 2020 BSLM Annual Conference. It will now take place on the same days, but as a virtual conference. The conference will still bring together medical practitioners, allied health professionals, public health professionals, educators and researchers to enjoy a range of excellent talks.
What will continue to bring people together is the growing body of scientific research and evidence which supports lifestyle medicine based approaches. In fact, it is the growing recognition that changes to lifestyle may hold the key to tackling the rising tide of non-communicable, chronic disease which is afflicting our societies.
At BSLM 2020 you will hear from expert international speakers on topics including:
- healthy eating and nutrition science
- exercise/physical activity
- environmental factors and mental well-being,
- sleep, stress management and many other topics
The change to the format has required the conference team to restructure the registration fees and further details of this and how to book will provide in due course via this link.
